I have a lot of fun making bookmarks like this for work. The Think Before You Ink bookmark was designed for consortium books. Each book requested through the consortium would have a bookmark placed in them for the patron to see, keep, and hopefully not write in or highlight the book. Believe it or not, there was a noticeable improvement according to staff who handle request returns. Yay!
My original bookmark looked like this:
My boss thought the message and design would get lost on our patrons and that it was a little too mean. I was going for the blackout poem look. But I can see where the design and message wouldn’t make sense. The final design above was a much better choice.
